Coryn Middleton’s second travel-inspired book, entitled Sara and Sami’s Magical Adventures, has touched down in the kingdom and the colourful characters are already forming a fan base.

The Bahrain-based author had captivated children last November with the release of her first book called Sara and Her Magic Abaya in which the Bahraini girl travels to fascinating countries with the help of her magical traditional garment.

According to the 47-year-old Briton, her first book was well received in the local market which is what encouraged her to write a sequel, this time featuring Sara and her younger brother, Sami, travelling to far off lands.

The 26-page illustrated book was first available as an e-book on Amazon in August and last week came out in print.

It is being snapped up from the shelves of Neo Books & Coffee at Riffa Palms, along with a limited number of signed copies.

She said: “I have received great feedback from readers in Bahrain who have been following the Sara and Her Magic Abaya Facebook page. A lot of them are waiting to receive their copies of the book which only arrived in Bahrain on September 26.”

The sequel features the siblings travelling around the world and getting up to a series of fun activities such as feeding pandas in China, climbing the Eiffel Tower in France, visiting Petra in Jordan and more.

Coryn’s books were inspired by her love for travelling as well as learning about diverse cultures and traditions. She hopes that her books will help youngsters get excited about seeing the world and that she inspires the next generation of travellers.

Aside from being an author, Coryn worked in various fields from teaching young children to working in two of the top international real estate companies. She has been living in the kingdom since 1998.

Electronic versions of the tale are priced around BD2, and in printed form, BD4.
