THE Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain La Med’s Mystical Brunch is not just a brunch; it’s a magical journey that’s perfect for the entire family.
From the moment you step into this enchanting venue, you’ll be spellbound by the soothing palette of white and blue, reminiscent of the turquoise Gulf waters right outside. What truly sets this experience apart, however, is the warm embrace it offers to families.
During my visit, they made a delightful fuss over my one-year-old daughter, ensuring that she had a wonderful time. They thoughtfully entertained her in the children’s area, and even had the mariachi band serenade her with the ever-popular Baby Shark, which was a heart-warming touch.
The enchanting atmosphere, with its intricate decorations, natural light, and captivating views, serves as the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining adventure.
Executive Chef Joergen Sodemann weaves his culinary magic, presenting a diverse menu to cater to everyone’s taste; including live-cooking stations, sushi counters, mixed mezze and other Mediterranean delights, alongside German favourites, from freshly baked pretzels, currywurst, to apple strudel.
At La Med’s Mystical Brunch, the carvery stations are a carnivore’s delight, offering a feast fit for the most discerning palates.
The succulent beef and salmon, expertly carved to perfection, beckon with their rich flavours. But the enchantment doesn’t stop there; my colleague, Jalal, who was also in attendance, discovered a gem in the form of slow-cooked lamb. This melt-in-your-mouth delight proved to be the perfect choice for those with a hearty appetite, leaving carnivorous folks in absolute culinary bliss.
To complement the sumptuous dishes, La Med offers an array of enchanting elixirs and mystical mocktails that heighten your senses and spark your imagination.
The service, led by director of food and beverage, William Fily, is impeccable and truly personalised.
And, the enchantment doesn’t end with the food.
Throughout the brunch, we were treated to an extraordinary performance by a talented female violinist who wowed diners tableside with her captivating melodies, and an illusionist entertained guests with their card tricks, adding an extra layer of wonder and amazement to the experience.
And then, there’s the dessert. We indulged in a variety of sweet treats, but the stand-out for us was their traditional German cheesecake (Käsekuchen). Derived from the chef’s own grandma’s recipe, it proved to be light and fluffy, using simple ingredients, and had a crust that will make you want to tell all your friends about it. It’s that tasty!
La Med’s Mystical Brunch is the perfect family escapade. It combines mysticism and culinary bliss in a way that delights both children and adults.
The pricing is reasonable, with the mystical brunch packages starting from BD35 inclusive of soft drinks, BD45 inclusive of select drinks and BD60 inclusive of premium bubbles, and BD17.5 per child. The littlest ones, children aged up to three, can enjoy their meal with complements of the venue, when accompanied by an adult.
