The Royal Golf Club’s outgoing 2014 Lady Captain, Dena Wales, presented Christine Gordon, founder of the RIA Centre, with a donation totalling BD1,000.
RIA was Dena’s chosen charity for the duration of her captaincy and the sum was raised through members’ golf competitions and by donating BD1 every time their ball landed in the captain’s charity bunker on the 18th fairway of the Montgomerie championship course or in the bunker on the 9th hole of the Mini Monty par 3 course.
“RIA is a very worthwhile institution that believes in providing education to all,” said Dena. “I’m delighted that the generosity of the Royal Golf Club’s members has allowed us to make a contribution to the great work that they do.”
