The object on the course is to get the ball into the hole in the fewest number of shots from where you begin.

If, for example, you find that your ball swerves 25 yards to the right in the air for full shots, it makes sense not to fight your swing and adjust your line accordingly to the left as you play.

The Royal Golf Club’s team of PGA Professionals is looking forward to introducing more ladies and children to the game of golf this September.

A new six-week Junior Golf Programme gets underway this month with groups for beginners as well as improvers. Many of the island’s private schools will also be starting new after-school golf lessons at the club this month too. Schools interested in participating in the after-school programme should contact the Royal Golf Academy.

Ladies interested in taking up the game are invited to attend special group golf clinics on September 19 and 26. Each three-hour clinic will teach participants the basics of the game and set them on the path to playing great golf.

Individuals wishing to take a series of golf lessons will get value for money from the Mini Package of five lessons which starts at BD152 per person and the Full Monty Package of 10 lessons which starts at BD295.
