Awali Golf Club (AGC) saw the biggest field of the 2015/16 season on Friday competing for the Schlumberger Trophy.

Among the more than 90 golfers were a number of guests from Al Ghazal Golf Club in Abu Dhabi who were in Bahrain for the running of the annual Hindmarsh Trophy, an inter-club matchplay which took place the following day.

Sun Kyu Kwak, from AGC, was the clear winner of the Stableford competition with 42 points.

The next nine players finished with 40 points each and count-back was invoked to decide the final order.

Schlumberger, who have been in Bahrain since 1931, first sponsored a competition at AGC in December 1956 and continued regularly until the mid-1990s. The club was delighted to see its return again last year and again this year.

Ayman Dessouky, on behalf of the sponsor, and club captain Bill Scarth presented prizes to the winners. Tournament director was Hamad Fares Al Qutami.

Results:
Overall winner: Sun Kyu Kwak (42 points), runner-up: Farooq Ahmed (40), 3rd Sultan Ahmed (40), 4th David Bailey (40), 5th Diab S Al Noaimi, 6th Serwin Rampersad.
