WOMEN were given the opportunity to learn how to love themselves with a weekend session by an inspiring counsellor, artist and author on a whistle-stop visit to Bahrain.

Hala Kazim, known globally for her positive transformation programme, ‘Journey through Change’, staged a one-day workshop called ‘How to Love Yourself’ at the Royal Golf Club on Friday, organised by Shatha Rashid Al Jalahma.

“I want to teach women through my life experiences, because it is very important for change to happen in this world and for that to happen, every woman needs to learn to love herself,” said Hala who has recently also toured Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.

“It is a man’s world and women must take care of themselves so that they do not feel any less important than men. We do not want to be in competition – we are different – but we need to understand our worth, especially here in the Arab world.”

Hala, a wife, mother and grandmother, studied counselling and coaching at City University in London, and is regarded as one of the most influential Arab women on social media, and has been invited to carry out workshops in the US too.

Her tips for ‘loving yourself’ start from the inside out with the aim of finding physical, emotional, spiritual and mental balance. Harmony, she believes, is imperative in all four of these areas and once that is achieved people can give more to their family and friends.
