Gulf Weekly Hobday helps himself to another prize!

TEACHER Barry Hobday notched another glorious June success by winning the fifth monthly Porsche Golf Cup Series tournament at the Royal Golf Club with a gross score of 77.

Rob Lane took the runners-up spot on count back with a gross score of 79. Denise Dunne narrowly clinched the nett section of the popular series on count back with a nett score of 71 while Hobday took second place with the same score.

All four players will be presented with Porsche goody bags at a prize giving evening on July 28.

Rob Lane tops both the gross and nett sections of the series leader board after five rounds with scores of 309 and 295 respectively.

Around 60 players took part in this month’s individual strokeplay tournament. The series consists of seven rounds and each player’s best six scores out of seven will represent their final score. All competitors will have the opportunity to win in either the gross or nett categories.

The Porsche Golf Cup Series is open to Royal Golf Club members and guests. To register for the next competition taking place on Friday, September 16, contact the Royal Golf Club’s Golf Events Department on email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
