SHOPPERS are being urged to support an initiative to help needy families equip their children for the new school year at all Geant and Gulfmart stores in the kingdom.
The outlets will be running a Back to School Supply Charity Drive until September 8 in collaboration with the Red Crescent Society.
A roll-up stand in Arabic and English has been placed near the entrances of each store at the side of the collection boxes.
Staff members are spreading the word with customers to ensure the charity drive is a success and to ‘make a difference’ to children who really need these school supplies and may otherwise have to do without.
Bahrain Red Crescent Society, a volunteer charity and recognised by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva since 1972, joined the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the same year.
It is active in providing services and assistance to the needy.
