A RECORD number of visitors attended the third Bahrain International Travel Expo (BITE) at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

Crown Prince and BDF Commander-in-Chief Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa formally opened last week’s three-day event which was organised by Magnum Events and Exhibitions Management (MEEM).
More than 4,000 visitors turned up on the opening day alone.
MEEM chairman Hisham Al Baradie said: “The enthusiastic response we have received for BITE this year has really overwhelmed us.
“Additionally, we attracted an array of new exhibitors from the region and across global markets further vindicating the growing reputation of the show as a unique and pioneering annual event in the region.
“BITE was conceived with the idea of bringing providers of holiday-related services, and clients seeking value for money offers, under one roof.”
The visitors included families, business travel organisers, retail travel agents and outbound tour operators amongst others.
Bahrain’s tourism sector has been buoyed by a number of positive developments in recent years, highlighting the kingdom’s growing promise as a travel destination due to the richness in its history and heritage, well-established infrastructure, the Bahraini people’s hospitality and the Gulf Air’s Formula 1 Circuit.
