Singapore looks set to attract Bahraini travellers, with its new family-friendly attractions, vibrant multi-cultural diversity and exciting events and festivals.

Although visitor arrivals to Singapore from the kingdom fell slightly in 2006 over the previous year, its tourism board is confident that it can attract more travellers from Bahrain.
As part of its efforts to encourage more Bahraini travellers to include Singapore in their summer holiday plans – either as a stand-alone trip or as part of a tour of Asia, the Singapore Tourism Board will be working with Bahraini tour operators to create dedicated packages for travellers from the region. “We have used our presence at BITE to raise awareness of the extensive range of attractions, entertainment and leisure options available in Singapore, as part of our ongoing plans to reach out to people in Bahrain,” said Ke-Wei Peh, area director, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board.

The Sunshine Tours special brochure on India was launched at the event. The company’s chief executive Hisham Al Baradie said: “The brochure is aimed at creating the awareness on India’s vast tourism potential, the key tourist destinations and providing special packages to those places.”
The guide, in Arabic and English, offers the traveller various itineraries in different parts of India including the options for ‘Spa and Wellness Holidays’ and rail tours. Shaikh Salman was presented with a special copy of the brochure by Balakrishnan Shetty, Indian Ambassador to Bahrain.
