A fun day is planned for children at the Country Club in Budaiya on May 26.

The day which will be held from 10am to 3pm is open for children aged seven to 16 years. Children will be able to participate in various games including football, rounders, water games, tennis, basket ball and hose riding, said the tennis coach Richard Perking who will host the fund day at the club. Models interested to participate in the The Young Goans Club May Queen Contest have until May 21 to sign up for the beauty pageant which has been dubbed as the “YGC May Queen Contest” due to be held at the Delmon International Hotel on May 31. Contestants will take to the catwalk and face a panel of judges in formal wear and ‘wit’ test rounds. Attractive prizes are up for grabs which include airline tickets, jewellery and electronic items. A charity gala dinner is being organised by the Migrant Workers Protection Society to be held on June 7 at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Residence and Spa.  Entertainment will be provided by the Aryan Fame band and DJs from Music and Lights. Aerosmith fans in Bahrain can now purchase tickets for the rock band’s debut Middle East concert. Tickets are on sale and available from Hava Java, Seef Mall.  
Aerosmith will perform on May 31st, at the Dubai Exiles Rugby Ground, the same venue hosting the annual Rugby 7’s tournament. Aerosmith whose members are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford and Joey Krammer is regarded by many as America’s greatest rock and roll band.
Their hits include Dude (Looks Like A Lady), I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing) and Crazy. More than 20,000 fans from across the region are expected to attend the only Middle East performance by Aerosmith. Bahrain fans can also book their tickets online on www.boxofficeme.com

Saudi-based four-piece band Sid and the Tonics are due to perform at the Dilmun Club in Saar on May 24 in the Candles restaurant. The band started out in late 2002 with two guitarists from Al Bustan and a drummer from Khobar who got together weekly and jammed for hours. Early in 2003 an additional guitarist came along to the jam sessions and finally a bass player from Jubail. The band current line-up include John Hawkyard – ‘front man’, lead, vocals, guitars; Dave Smith – backing vocals, guitars, lights and PA; Dave Pyne – bass guitar; and Brian Bahr – drums. They will be making a return visit to the Dilmun Club due to popular demand and their repertoire will include 60s, 70s and 80s rock music. Doors open at 7.30pm.
