Gulf Weekly Red Devils clinch Infiniti title

The Infiniti Night Golf League came to a thrilling conclusion at Riffa Golf Club when the final came down to a play-off between To Infiniti & Beyond and the Red Devils.

After drawing the match, Mike Crandell and Steve Newall of the Infiniti team competed against Chang Han Oh and Hyun Soo Kim of the Red Devils in an 18th hole play-off which resulted in them halving the hole in 6.
Tension built up as the two pairs replayed the hole again, but this time Chang Han Oh birdied the hole, handing victory to his Red Devils team.
In a separate match for third place, Al Iman Gaskets took on The Krazy Gang and beat them by 3 points to 1 with Al Iman’s Barry Hobday and Jason Smith winning 2 points.
In addition to the finals, a consolation event was held for the 3rd, 4th and 5th placed teams from both the Tuesday and Wednesday leagues.
The Derelicts team won the Texas Scramble competition with a team score of 31.10 while nearest the pin side contests on the 13th and 16th holes were won by Jason Smith and Dena Wales respectively. Olive Wagstaff achieved the longest drive on the 12th hole and Iain Smith on the 18th.
“I am delighted with the success of this year’s league,” said Alan Guest, chief executive of YK Almoayyed & Sons, the distributors of Nissan Infiniti cars in Bahrain.
“Both the Tuesday and Wednesday leagues were extremely closely fought throughout the seven weeks of matches and to have such an exciting play-off in the final was a fitting end to it. We look forward to sponsoring further golf events on the new Colin-Montgomerie designed course at Riffa Views next year.”
The finals night concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and barbecue held in the club’s marquee where prizes were presented to the winning teams by Mr Guest.
