TWENTY players from the Bahrain Golf Club beat Riffa Golf Club by 9 ? matches to 2 ? recently in the annual Crown Prince’s Cup.

The match was played at the Bahrain Club’s sand course and saw veteran Bahrain team players Nasser Yacoob and Abdulla Sultan prove their worth on sand by taking an early lead.
The Riffa pairing of Mark Holmans and Matthew Perry gained a valuable point by winning their match while 3 matches were halved, including that of current Riffa captain Peter Loubser and former captain Barry Hobday.
“The members of the Bahrain Golf Club were fantastic hosts and put on a great meal for us at the end of play,” said Riffa’s director of operations, Phil Jones.
“I’m just sorry that we didn’t manage to put up more of a fight but we are looking forward to a rematch next year on our new Colin Mongomerie-designed course.”
