‘I’m sorry but ...’
Watch out for this one as it has a serious sting in its tail. It’s not often a woman likes to say she’s sorry and more often than not when she does, it’s followed with the word “but” which of course means she isn’t sorry at all — and don’t expect her to be anytime in the near future.
She’s pretty sure you’re not going to like what she has to say, but she’s going to say it anyway. She’s not sorry about what she’s saying, she’s simply acknowledging that you won’t like it.
“I’m sorry but…” is a pretty good sign your woman has reached her limit in whatever the matter is as she no longer cares about whether or not she hurts your feelings. If it’s a relationship you want to keep you can fix the problem then do so immediately and spend the next couple of days convincing her it won’t happen again.
