Euro Motors, the exclusive importer for Maserati in Bahrain have unveiled the new Maserati GranTurismo.

The Maserati GranTurismo is a muscular, high-performance sports car with excellent handling.

With enough room for four people, the car is astonishingly comfortable, superbly refined and beguilingly beautiful from every curvaceous angle.

Its taut lines and polished surfaces immediately grab the eye. Sculptured and sexy, elegant and well-balanced, the car transmits power, sensuality and refinement.

Built with particular attention to comfort, an excellent choice of materials and intricate details the Gran Turismo is arguably one of the finest cars ever to wear the famous Trident badge.

"We have experienced unprecedented customer interest in this vehicle and have pre-orders for the convertible leading well into next year," said Zayed Al Zayani, managing director of Euro Motors.

The interior has elegant lines, clear instrumentation, simple switchgear and near-faultless fit and finish.

The beating heart of the GranTurismo is a 4244cc 90¡V8 engine.

It is a power unit that forms part of the new stable of Maserati engines.

Compact and light, with the cylinder block and heads in aluminium and silicon alloy, the engine boasts 32 valves actioned by twin overhead camshafts per cylinder bank with low pressure variable phase intake cams.

The GranTurismo's engine was created to guarantee the high peak power (95.4 bhp/litre) and speed of engine response typical of a competition unit to assure smooth acceleration and a quiet running.

The result is immediately evident.

The engine delivers 405 Horse Power, and a weight distribution of 49 per cent at the front and 51 per cent at the rear.

It is fitted with an automatic gearbox and equipped with an adaptive control system which adjusts the gear-shifting mode to the driving style and the driving conditions.

Maserati's tradition of the Gran Turismo concept dates back to 1947 when the Trident Company, in response to its clients' demand, unveiled its first Gran Turismo.

It was designed by the great PininFarina, and based on the racing chassis of the A6 1,500cc.

It was the first Maserati road car and was produced in 58 units.

The car was acclaimed by the automotive press for its advanced technical content and for its avant-garde style solutions.

The new model name - Maserati GranTurismo - is not incidental. Once again, the partnership between Maserati and Pininfarina gives birth to a car that generates emotion and sets itself apart from competitors.

The new Maserati GranTurismo represents a further step towards the completion of the Trident product range, following the worldwide launch of the Quattroporte Automatic at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
