Malls no longer hassle-free

I remember how much fun it was when it was so easy to have a stroll in the Seef Mall on weekends with your friends and family without fear of any harm being done to you and those around you.

Sadly, it is just a memory. Nowadays all you get is hassle from people of all ages.

Can I suggest you try moving from one end of the mall to the other without any hitch?

See how many people, for example, take out their cigarettes and have a smoke while still being under the mall's roof.

It was such as big thing seven months ago when the no-smoking rules came in but nowadays smokers are back with a vengeance even in places that allow children inside. Surely, more measures must be taken to ensure that the rules are adhered to.

There is continuing trouble outside the malls too - or should I say troubling parking with all the visitors crossing the border just to have some fun in the malls of Bahrain.

Would it not be best if a plan was laid out that all cars were forced to correctly park? (As in, one car per one space).

Many readers may wonder why this kid is raising such matters and surely he should be concentrating on having fun.

My answer to such claims would be that, as someone who has grown up in the kingdom for the past 16 years of his life, I'm growing sick and tired, day after day, by the lack of attention some people put into their jobs, be they at the malls or elsewhere!

So, from a totally selfish point of view, please try your utmost this week to ensure every young person in Bahrain has a great weekend and that they suffer no glitch while trying to have fun, wherever they may be.

You might find it makes your life happier too.
