Emax Big Box, a multi-branded consumer electronics store, was inaugurated by Salman bin Isa bin Hindi, governor of Muharraq, this week.

The 60,000 sq ft store, part of the Al Rashid Group - a division of Landmark Retail Ltd, spreads across two levels of a wide range of electronic and digital products along with a variety of home appliances in Muharraq.

Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Emax and director of the Landmark Group said: "The Big Box concept aims to revolutionise technology retailing with its unique business model that combines the best brands, overwhelming product diversity, friendly customer services and astonishing value through large format stores across the regions.

"We have set the trend with this concept in Sharjah, UAE, and have replicated, if not better, the same here in Bahrain."

The store displays over 300 brands and 75,000 electronic, digital and electrical products. Mr Bhatnagar said: "Our initial plans were to launch by Ramadan with this new concept for the entire family. With the major holidays coming now, it would give customers an opportunity to come and shop.

"The store provides an array of choices for customers to decorate their homes, with both electronic and non-electronic items - all under one roof."

The store is also offering various in-house promotions which include the chance for customers to win home furnishings.

Mr Bhatnagar added: "We plan to launch more Big Box stores across cities in the GCC which will include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Jeddah, Riyadh and Al Khobar."

The company was full of praise for the team who helped them launch the Bahrain venture, highlighting mall promoters V.K. Universal Property Management Co, constructors Al Namal Construction, interior designers Saach Interiors. Electro-mechanical works were carried out by NEMCO Electro Mechanical Contractors and KOYO escalators and elevators were supplied and installed by Saach International Trading.
