Filmmaking siblings Joel and Ethan Coen embrace and poke satirical fun at their rural Minnesota roots with this comedy/drama/thriller that earned seven Oscar nominations with wins for Best Actress and Best Original Screenplay. Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) is a pregnant police chief whose affable, folksy demeanour masks a whip-smart mind. When a pair of motorists are found slain near the corpse of a state trooper, Marge begins piecing together a case involving a pair of dopey would-be kidnappers.

Set in the shadowy world of England's clandestine security service, MI5, Spooks is a slightly more realistic version of the award winning American series 24. Have a look into a world were operatives are fiercely loyal to their country and have to lie to their families and friends to safeguard the the lives and security of their nation. Full of intrigue, the plots are eerily credible and will definitely leave with pause-for-thought.

Inspired by the real-life story of Josey Aimes, Charlize Theron stars as a single mother working in the male dominated world of iron mining. Along with the few women who work with her, she is plagued by sexual harassment from her male counterparts. When she is raped she decides it's time to put a stop to the harassment and takes the company to court. Ostracised by her family and co-workers, she has only the support of her best friend Glory (Frances McDormand) and a male colleague Bill (Woody Harrelson).

Film - Lock Up on Star Movies at 8.30pm
Starring Sylvester Stallone, Donald Sutherland and Tom Sizemore, this is the story of a man with six months left to serve in a prison sentence. Moved from a minimum security site to a maximum security facility, under the sadistic hand of a warden with a personal vendetta against him. He must risk it all to stand up to the plot of torture and degradation the warden has created.
