Judges of our 'search for a star snapper' contest were so impressed by young driver Ahmed Abdullah Ahmed Fadhel's amazing selection of photographs - they've extended the age limit for entries by a year to allow him to have a shot at securing a dream position as a staff photographer on GulfWeekly.

Ahmed, 26, from Daih, says he would love to win the prize so he could concentrate on his passion for photography. "It's a great opportunity," he said. "I take pictures at parties but this would be a whole different challenge."

His entry included a powerful image of a donkey owner trying to get his animal under control, pearls being uncovered from a shell, a crab and a super Bahraini sunset.

Gulf Weekly will be creating a trainee news and sport photographer's position and YES, you could WIN that position by simply sending us your best photograph along with a caption of not more than 100 words.

A talented young Bahraini is just one frame away from securing the chance of pursuing the career of his or her dreams and working alongside our chief photographer Sophie Middleton.

Editor Stan Szecowka said: "We want to find an enthusiastic photographer who wants to develop the art of picture taking and can go on to capture the magic moments that mean so much to our family of readers."

The competition is open to all Bahrainis aged 26 or under. To enter you simply have to send us one of your favourite photographs, a caption and your CV by email to editor@gulfweekly.com

We will publish a selection of photographic entries over the coming weeks and invite a panel of judges to shortlist three young photographers for interview.

The photographer who shows the most drive, ambition and ability during the interview process will secure an 18-month trainee contract.

Don't delay - send your top image, plus a few words describing it - to editor@gulfweekly.com
