Wednesday (June 16) Studio Ceramics is hosting an experimental mark-making and drawing workshop at its premises in Budaiya with visiting artist Mercy Kagia. Mercy is a 'reportage drawing' artist currently working on a PhD in London researching the use of drawing as a documenting tool and has vast experience in art teaching and workshops, working internationally in the UK, Kenya, Korea and USA. Friday (June 18)

A drawing workshop for artists of all levels will be held at the Al Riwaq Art Space in Adliya today and tomorrow led by Seana Mallen and Mercy Kagia.

Timings are from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 5pm on June 18 and from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm on June 19. Fee is BD60.

Alliance franaise de Bahre•n is organising the 'Fte de la musique' at its premises in Isa Town from 5pm to midnight and tomorrow at Cultural Hall, near Bahrain Museum from 7pm to 11pm. The event is part of the International Fte de la Musique organised by French Ministry of Culture since 1982. Around 15 bands and music institutions will participate in this free event proposing a diversity of music genres - classical Arabic music, acoustic, folk and country, oriental jazz, flamenco, jazz-rock, mŽlo-rock, traditional Bahraini music, alternative and reggae. Al Riwaq Art Space in Adliya is hosting a programme for young Bahraini artists every Sunday and Wednesday throughout this month and July. The group will consist of seven artists and go through a series of seminars / workshops. Participating students are Rashid Al Arafi, Ahmed Al Mannai, Salman Al Najem, Noor Al Alawi, Khadija Al A'ali, Muneera Al Sindi , Alia Al Alawi, Masooma Al Noaimi, Arwa Abdullah, Aysha Al Khalifa, Tamadher Ali, Mohammed Hussain Al Mahdi, Ibrahim Azzam, Mahmood Al Shargawi, Yosra Al Banna. A collective exhibition titled 'Jumble' is being held until June 31 at the Al Riwaq Art Space in Adliya. It focuses on experimental art works created by up and coming artists from Bahrain. The show's aim is to encourage young creativity and to provide new artists with a space to display their work.
