'Quality and affordable' AMH health care pledge

American Mission Hospital Society has announced plans to construct a new 100-bed hospital in the west of Bahrain.

The project, which aims to cater to the kingdom's growing population for the next 50 to 100 years, was recently launched by Health Minister Dr Faisal Al Hamer. With the new facility, AMH hopes to provide additional 'quality and affordable' health care to residents in Saar, Budaiya, Janabiya, A'ali and Riffa.American Mission Hospital (AMH) in Manama and Saar Medical and Dental Centre will continue to function normally during construction. The exact location of the new facility has yet to be revealed.

Dr George Cheriyan, chief medical officer and chief executive officer of AMH, said that this was a vital development for AMH. He added: "It was the dream of the first Arabian mission pioneers to build a hospital that would provide quality, affordable health care to all seeking it. We are thrilled to be able to announce our plans to build a new hospital to continue that dream for another century."
