YOU'll be on your tod in more ways than one with a unique fashion accessory at one of Bahrain's most exclusive stores.

For Tod's Moda Mall boutique is offering a unique way of allowing customers to customise their choices from its coveted 'icons collection'.

Tod's launched its new custom-made project last weekend with canapŽs and fruit juices being supplied alongside its desirable D Bags, Gommino and Ballerina shoes.

The Italian luxury label is most famous for its driving shoes and classic bags offering a distinct laid back, understated style.

Diego Della Valle, founder of Tod's, began selling leather goods from his basement in the late 1920s and today the name can be found in select outlets around the world, from Scandinavia to the US, Asia and the Middle East.

Elisa Lubinski, Tod's sales manager for the southern region and emerging markets, checked out the World Trade Centre launch event in the kingdom and said: "Through the new custom-made service, our clients can choose the style they would like and have it custom-crafted in a selection of the finest materials, from exotic and precious alligator to richly-textured python, as well as monogram it with their initials, creating a one of a kind and unique Tod's piece.

"With 'custom made', Tod's discovers an exclusive world where your accessories become unique and individual."

Tod's 'icons collection' is a celebration of craftsmanship, design and art, say fashion experts, and present some of the finest fashion items to adorn a 'Made in Italy' signature. They are already a 'must have' for many international celebrities such as Diane Kruger, Julianne Moore, Freida Pinto, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and on the 'wish list' of many a fashionista living in Bahrain.

Bahrain human resource executive Dawn Morton, for example, recently cut out a photo of a Tod's handbag from a glossy magazine and left it on her husband's bedside table as a handy hint for when festive treats are on the agenda. "It is rather special," she said.

Keen customers have been quick off the mark to ensure they have a prized piece signed, sealed and delivered within three months.

The price, store manager Antoine Makhlouf said , is available 'upon request' although GulfWeekly spotted a standard brown pair of shoes on display at BD144 and a rather fetching purple snake-skinned variety on the shelves to be snapped up for BD250.
