Bahrain Fashion Week will be held at a variety of venues from November 17-19. The event aims to promote and establish the kingdom as the next international fashion capital and commemorates its third season with designers from Bahrain, Saudi, London, France, Qatar and other regions.

The event launches with a VIP and media private show at La Fontaine Arts Centre showcasing award-winning designs by Saudi's Studio Kalid (by Kalid Swaid), a special performance by Brit Asia Music Awards nominee for Best Female and Best Newcomer Kazz Kumar followed by a VIP reception.

Managing director Payal Patel said: "We want everyone to see the potential that Bahrain has in this multi-billion dollar industry. We aim, in the long run, to provide a single platform for international and regional participants to present their collection to global and regional buyers, media, fashion professionals and fashion enthusiasts."

The organisers have introduced an 'emerging talent' show for five young aspiring designers - all based in either Bahrain or Saudi - who were chosen from dozens of applicants to showcase their designs at the main event.

Thursday's main event will be opened by N Couture by Noora Abdulghani, a young Bahrain designer.

Shows at the Palm Hall at the Bahrain Exhibition Centre will be showcasing designers such Ruth Samaai from South Africa and RK Designs from Saudi Arabia as well as a host of other designers from the region and London.

The final schedule will be released shortly on www.bahrainfashionweek.com website. Call 33339498, 17382444 or email info@lotuspi.com for more information.
