HAS there ever been a more bizarre decision at a sports club (outside of Latin America) than the one taken by Fulham owner, Mohammed Al Fayed, to erect a statue of his friend, Michael Jackson, at the Craven Cottage Ground?
Pop superstar Jackson visited the stadium just the once in 1999 to watch Fulham defeat fellow League 2 side Wigan.
There are far more worthy players and staff that have contributed to the Fulham cause who deserve to have their achievements recognised.
By all means spend money on commemorating a close friend, but please place it somewhere with relevance. Let's hope Exeter City don't follow suit as Jackson visited the Devon club in 2002 - just the once!
