The Velvet Thunder team claimed first place in the annual Think Pink Bahrain Gents Golf Tournament at the Royal Golf Club and a grand total of BD3,038 was raised for the cause.
The event was fully booked with over 40 gents competing in the Team Betterball Stableford format over the back 9 holes of the Montgomerie-championship course under floodlights.
The tournament marked the start of Think Pink Bahrain week at the Royal Golf Club and was supported with sponsorship from YK Almoayyed, BMI, Gulf Air, Optima Appliances, AXA insurance and RCSI Bahrain.
The AXA team of Steve Wagstaff, David Wales, Patrick Gallagher and HMA Iain Lindsay narrowly claimed the runners-up spot in the tournament with 39 points, just one point behind the Velvet Thunder team which consisted of Russell Mack, Andy Weiser, John Wilson and Tim Backhouse.
Think Pink tournaments for lady golfers begin today with more than 80 registered to take part.
