The Hempel Pairs competition was played last weekend at Awali Golf Club in near perfect conditions. The overall champions were the pair of Sun Kyu Kwak and Yong Bak Kwak who followed up a fantastic nett 62 on Friday with a nett 63 on Saturday to finish on a stunning nett total of 125.
Second place was claimed by the pair of Salah Musbah and Essa Al Kaabi who finished on a nett score of 129 courtesy of rounds of 62 and 67.
The final podium place went to the team of Sultan Ahmed and Abdulla Al Ghatam who followed up a solid nett 70 on day one with an impressive nett 60 to finish on a total of 130. Pete Rogers and John Loughnane also finished on a nett total of 130 and were unfortunate to lose on countback.
This week’s competition is the 45th Kanoo Cup and it will take place on Friday.
