Mai day, Mai day! This newspaper’s intrepid reporter, Mai Al Khatib, was constantly harangued by a pizza company one day last week constantly calling her phone informing her that her large BD37 food order had arrived. “It’s not for me,” she explained politely. “I’ve not even ordered a slice.”

A few minutes later, another call came through, and another and another and another. Finally, she called the company’s HQ and told them to stop bothering her and NO she didn’t order or want any pizza!

Meanwhile, in an office on the fourth floor of Al Hilal HQ where the bean counters sit, a lovely lady called Mai was awaiting her large order of pizzas for an office party - yes, accountants really DO know how to have fun.

I must have a word in Miss Al Khatib’s ear … one shouldn’t go upsetting the people who arrange for salaries to be paid!
