St Christopher’s School is holding the final for the F1 in Schools competition on June 19 at the senior school sports hall in Isa Town. The competition is a multi-disciplinary challenge in which four teams of students aged nine to 19 set out to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, test and then race miniature gas powered balsa wood F1 cars. Each car has been designed using Solidworks, a computer-aided design package and has been tested in a virtual reality wind tunnel. The winning team will represent the kingdom in the 2012 World Finals which are held in October at Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi. This year’s entries include, Team Swift, Silver Bullets, 7th Gear and Calibre.
