Golden Tulip Hotel is hosting the Manama Singers concert at the Gilgamesh Ballroom on June 22. The event will start at 7.30pm and is entitled Happy Together, featuring classics from Michael Jackson, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, Paul Simon, Billy Joel and U2. A charity cricket tournament will be held at The Ritz- Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa on June 21 to June 28. Each player will receive a t-shirt and prizes are to be won for first, second and third place winners. The registration fee is BD75 for a team of nine participants. Proceeds will go to the Bahrain Friendship Society for the Blind.

The Bahrain Summer Festival, entitled Manama City of Joy, is taking place until July 15. It will feature attractions by top performers and singers with all events taking place at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre. All tickets for upcoming events are priced at BD2, BD5 or BD10, with Sound of Music tickets for BD5, BD10 and BD15 and are available from Virgin Megastore, Bahrain City Centre.
A flamenco dance show by Los Vivancos entitled Aeturnum, from Spain will take place on June 21 and 22 at 8.30pm. A Czech circus entitiled Karromato, is taking place between June 26 - 29 at 5pm. Entry to this event is free.
Award-winning musician Omar Faruk from Turkey will perform on June 30 at 8.30pm.
Saudi Arabian hip-hop artist Qusai will perform on July 3 at 8.30pm. His performance will also feature Bahrain’s DJ Outlaw and Flipperachi, as well as a traditional Bahraini Laiwa band to create an authentic musical concert.
Arabs Got Talent reality TV finalist, singer, Hala Alturk, will take to the stage on July 6 at 7pm.
The Sound of Music will also be staged direct from London’s West End and Dubai between July 10 and 15 at 7pm every night.
A poetry festival entitled ‘Colours of Life’, will take place at the Bahrain Fort Museum on June 21 as part of the Manama Capital of Arab Culture 2012. This event will feature performances in Arabic as well as English from the Second Circle Poetry Group, showcasing both local and international presentations on poetry. It will be directed by Bahrain’s renowned Western poet, David Hollywood. Entry is free.
Alliance Francaise Bahrain and Bushido Restaurant & Lounge have teamed up to organise a jazz concert entitled Fete de la Musique on June 21 at Bushido Restaurant & Lounge. Musician Eric Seva, pictured above, will perform and entry is free. Doors open at 9pm.
