The Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain organised a variety of fund-raising events to support Alive and Kicking, an African social enterprise as part of its effort to contribute to the community.

The events included a jogging contest with over 50 participants taking part in the activity held at the school premises in Soccer City, Janabiya.

In addition, the school organised a charity match between parents of the participants and school staff to strengthen their relationship and further cement their ties as an active partner in progress. Moreover, the school officials allowed participants to donate money in order to be able to wear the official sports kits of the teams they support in the last week of the first term.

“We are doing our bit by backing Alive and Kicking that manufactures sports balls to provide them for children, generate jobs for adults and promote health education, all through sport,” said the school’s executive director Abdulhameed Al Kooheji.

“The Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain has been at the forefront this year by organising several matches both locally and internationally to help budding players in the kingdom.”
The second term of the school begins tomorrow and registration is open for interested participants.

Ever since GulfWeekly added the Gadgets of the Week section I rush home from school every Wednesday and take a look at it. I love gadgets and gizmos and I think it’s a good idea that your paper has added them.

I really hope my mum gets me the Pac Man alarm clock that was in last week’s issue. I love video games and I’m a pro at Pac Man.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to add a cartoon section into the newspaper like the Gulf Daily News, that’s my favourite page.

I really like reading the GulfWeekly. The newspaper writes about so many children and I hope to be one of them one day.
