The Whisperer

Goodwill and merriment is still alive and well among the people of Bahrain, despite what is portrayed in international media. A group of expat friends of the Whisperer met up at a coffee house in Adliya to welcome a couple of first-timers to the island.

A small group had booked a table not realising that more friends were coming. When the second group arrived, only one table remained but a little away from the first group.

It’s no surprise that the venue was full as everybody had started welcoming in the New Year. Just as the second group was about to leave, two young Bahraini men who were clearly in for the long haul as they had just been served food and juice, offered their table so that both groups could sit together. It’s true when they say, you can always depend on the kindness of strangers. It made a great impression on the tourists as well as proving that Bahrain is still one of the friendliest countries around.

End the New Year on a high note by lending a helping hand or putting a smile on someone’s face.
