Flames too hot for RCSI as Venus edge past Reds

THERE were goals galore in the GulfWeekly Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League this week with RCSI, playing their first match of the season, suffering a baptism of fire at the hands of league leaders Eastern Flames.

The Saudi team ran out 7-0 winners with goals from hat-trick heroines Leah Montenegro and Wumme Andrews sharing the glory and Erin Dawson notching a superb solo effort.

Arsenal Yellows and Joga TFA shared the points in a pulsating 2-2 draw, with goals for the Yellows from Tamara Kawash and Lamees Saqqa with Zahra Hassan Qassab and Ashwaq Ebrahim replying for Joga.

Venus restored their winning ways taking the points from Arsenal Red in a tight 4-3 victory. Goals for Venus came from Ghada Mudara, Fatima Dashiti, Hessa Al Jazzif and Dana Noor. The Reds replied though Lucy Hogg, Alaa Alawi and Thuraya Al Waary.

Last Wednesday Arsenal Reds notched a 2-1 victory over struggling Arsenal Yellows in a tense derby encounter, coming back from one behind after an own-goal by Sarah Van Urk. The Reds rose to victory with goals by Reema Al Gassab and Dalal Abdulrahim to save Sarah’s blushes.
