Royal Golf Club course designer Colin Montgomerie, the eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner and Ryder Cup legend, has become a brand ambassador and will wear Lambda Golf shoes in all future golf tournaments.
Montgomerie is one of Europe’s most famous golfers having won a record-breaking 40 tournaments and eight Order of Merit titles, including seven-in-a-row from 1993.
He has also been a member of five victorious Ryder Cup teams whilst captaining the side to victory in 2010 at Celtic Manor.
Montgomerie was recently inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame for his achievements and is due to start a career on the Seniors Tour.
Lambda Golf was established in 2008 but was built from a European group of family-owned companies with more than 40 years of shoe manufacturing experience. Unlike other brands that outsource manufacture, Lambda Golf makes all of its shoes in Europe using only locally-sourced and European environment-friendly materials to ensure that a classic, handmade golf shoe is constructed.
Montgomerie said: “I am very happy to be associated with Lambda Golf as it is a respected brand in the market which creates high quality and high tech classic golf shoes.
“As a golfer I am on my feet all day and having a comfortable and durable pair of shoes is hugely important to me. I am confident that these shoes can provide me with everything that I need and I love their classic designs.”
Lambda Golf CEO, Paulo Freitas added: “The partnership with Colin Montgomerie is a great fit for us because he is a recognised talisman of European golf and mirrors all of our brand values. It makes us feel great that someone as experienced as Colin has chosen our shoes to wear as he embarks on his career on the Seniors Tour.”
