Husband and wife team of David and Dena Wales were champions of October’s VIVA Fourball League competition at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 22 points, walking away with a brand new BlackBerry Curve mobile each.
Another husband and wife pairing, Rob and Debbie Lane, were a close second with 21 points while the duo of Paul Carpenter and Kevin Ross took third place with 20 points.
The points earned put Carpenter and Ross at the top of the overall league order of merit. Peter and Sara Thompson lie in second place and the Lanes are in third.
Ian Robson won the nearest the pin side contest on hole 12 and was also presented with a BlackBerry Curve.
The Betterball Stableford competition is played monthly on the club’s challenging Montgomerie Championship Course and the top six scores from a maximum of 10 will count towards the final overall scores.
