The inaugural Lagoon Automarket took place over the weekend, with the kingdom’s leading motoring companies offering special deals on a wide range of vehicles.
The car show, in Amwaj, ran for three consecutive days and car agencies presented brand new cars at discounted prices.
The organisers, 9 Dots media & events, said the show was such a success that it is planning to make it a quarterly event in the kingdom.
Marketing consultant, Hassan Elwardany, said: “Everybody involved with the event worked extremely hard and it was definitely a success. Over the course of the weekend we had around 13,500 visitors.”
At the event, several companies including National Motors (GMC, Chevrolet and Honda), Suzuki, E K Kanoo Motor City (Subaru, Ssangyong, Luxgen and Marshell), Ahmed Zayani & Sons (Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Skoda), AA Bin Hindi (Kia Motors), First Motors (Hyundai), Y K Almoayyed (Renault) and A J M Kooheji (Yamaha Bikes), all made sales or bookings.
It wasn’t just cars on display, there were also a number of products and services including Rhino Tyres, Al Dhaen Boats (car wrapping and boats), Cyclo (accessories shop)and Zeibart (car wrapping and underseal).
Mr Elwardany, 50, from Amwaj, added: “It was a fantastic opportunity for the companies involved to boost sales for the first quarter and clear existing stock and it has done just that, we are very pleased.
“I wanted to offer something special to crowds, it wasn’t just about a car show, there was good weather, entertainment and hopefully it made for a fun day out too.”
