More than 150 kindergarten students, aged three to five, took part in the Al Mahd Day Boarding School sports day. Sixty prizes were given away to individual winners.
A Children Carnival and Kite Festival was held by the Pakistan Women’s Association at the American Express Bahrain Rugby Football Club, Saar. Children with special needs from Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Centre for Child Development, the Al Sanabil Orphanage and Bahrain Mobility International attended the event that was part of the PWA’s community service activities. The participants, aged four to 14, along with PWA members and their children flew kites, enjoyed face painting, games and visited food stalls at the event that followed on the children’s carnival that was held last year.
The Lions Club of Riffa celebrated its 12th anniversary at the Bahrain Conference Centre, Crowne Plaza Hotel. During the event, the new board for this year was inducted, while the outgoing board members were honoured. Winners of a recent children’s essay and painting competition were honoured and a brief cultural programme on the theme of the environment was presented.
