Sahib and Butt duo win opener

The duo of Ahmed Sahib and Iftikhar Butt narrowly won the first competition of a new six-week Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club, sponsored once again by Coca-Cola, with 23 points.

They were followed on countback by Abdulrahman Al Amar and Abdulla Al Hakam, who achieved a score of 22.
Ernest Weber and playing partner Felix Jansen had to settle for third place. Butt received an additional prize for winning a nearest the pin side contest on the 16th hole while Sharif Ahmed was nearest the pin on hole 12.

More than 30 golfers competed in the Rainbow Challenge competition. A prize presentation ceremony was held in the Members’ Lounge where Hubert Vergara from the club’s operations department gave away the prizes.

The competition takes place at the club every Monday. The 9 hole contests are open to non-members for BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
