Steven Hill won the seventh round of the Audi quattro Cup qualifying series at the Royal Golf Club with an excellent stableford score of 37 points.

John Fitzmaurice clinched the runners-up spot with 35 points while Rick Hillson was a close third with 34 points. Chris Meyer won the nearest the pin side contest on hole 7 and the 2s club winners were Sanjay Lal and Rob Lane.

More than 55 competitors turned out for the tournament which was open to members and visitors with valid handicap certificates.

After seven rounds, Hill now sits at the top of the series Order of Merit with 201 points. January’s leader, Arnaud Robert, has now slipped into second place with 193 points while Rob Lane is in third place overall with the same number of points.

Competitors have just one more round to play before the finals are held at the Royal Golf Club on April 15.

All players will have the opportunity to discard their lowest round score after round nine. The top two order of merit winners will represent Bahrain as one of the 60 teams competing in the World Finals.
