The pairing of Chris Gerald and Brian Bridgford won the latest Monday Night Lights competition at the Royal Golf Club in testing weather conditions with an excellent score of -7 (Nett 29) in the Betterball Medal format. They finished one shot ahead of Iftikhar Butt and Mohamed Akeel who scored -6 (Nett 30).
In total 40 golfers took part in the Betterball Medal tournament which was played under floodlights on the back 9 holes of the club’s Montgomerie championship course. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge hosted by director of golf Philip Waine.
The Monday Night Lights are 9 hole competitions are open to members, non-members with official handicaps at a cost of BD18 per night green fee, plus a BD2 entry fee with 6.30pm shotgun start.
Non-handicap golfers are welcome to play also though and can use the scores on this night to work towards achieving an official handicap.
