Following the postponement of the club competition the previous week due to rain, 80 Awali Golf Club (AGC) golfers turned out on Friday for the annual A&E Carlsberg Stableford.
Conditions were so good that many high scores were posted with Blake Budge winning with an excellent 43 points, followed by Lynn St Lawrence as runner-up with 42, and Mahmood Falamarzi in third place with 41.
Club Captain Bill Scarth, representing the sponsor, presented the prizes to the top six players. The tournament director was Hamad Fares Al Qutami.

The Royal Golf Club’s team of PGA Professionals has come up with a trio of great deals this month to encourage new players to take up the game of golf and to help existing golfers improve their game:
Beginners’ Group Class – A four-week course consisting of a one-hour lesson per week covering the fundamentals of golf and basic swing technique. New classes begin on Friday or Saturday from 1pm–2pm. The course costs BD40 per person inclusive of equipment and refreshments.
Half-day Short Game Class – A group class to cover putting, chipping, pitching and bunkers. Classes are available every Saturday throughout April from 1pm-4pm and cost BD45 per person.
Golf Equipment Evaluation – Book a 50-minute one-to-one session with a PGA professional who, with the aid of the FlightScope launch monitor, will check your specifications to enable you to maximise the results from your equipment. Sessions may be pre-booked any time throughout the month and cost BD30 per person.
