Following the arrival of the hotly anticipated 40th anniversary Golf GTI Clubsport in April this year, the Middle East’s purists can now experience the Clubsport with a six-speed manual transmission.
With acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.3 seconds and a boost function allowing up to 290hp for a short time, the model is the region’s most powerful production GTI ever.
The limited-edition Golf GTI Clubsport with manual transmission starts from around BD14,200.
"The manual edition of the Golf GTI Clubsport is a driver’s car, showcasing pure driving pleasure with a power-packed performance, innovative technology and stand-out new design. Our customers have the opportunity to relive the original GTI manual experience," said Andrew Savvas, brand director, Volkswagen Middle East.
Volkswagen designers have given the Golf GTI a completely new front bumper, side sills, rear diffuser, multi-part roof spoiler and exclusive forged alloy wheels, making the anniversary model a unique version on the cult classic that can immediately be identified amongst its peers. The motor-racing equipment ensures that a more dynamic and sporty feel can be experienced throughout the entire vehicle.
Keeping with GTI tradition, the Clubsport is front-wheel drive. The design, equipment and aerodynamic fine-tuning of the model have been extensively revamped to give the Clubsport pioneering handling capabilities at high speeds. Due to motorsport technology creating additional downforce, the car can also reach breathtaking cornering speeds. This elevates the GTI hatchback to the domain of top-class motorsport.
