THE University of Bahrain (UoB) has revamped its Isa Town campus network in partnership with global ICT solutions provider, Huawei Bahrain.

Serving the increasingly digital higher-education landscape, the collaboration has streamlined the campus’s network speed and coverage. Huawei Bahrain installed 120 access points across the site, increasing the network coverage by 50 per cent.

In addition, the university’s campus has been fitted with the ompan’s wireless devices, allowing all users to experience 1000Mbps speeds. Huawei Bahrain’s CEO, Feng Nan Paul said, “This network upgrade aims to facilitate the wave of digital education transforming academia in Bahrain.

It will add to the experience of educators and students who are increasingly relying on digital coursework and online learning materials on campus.” UoB’s Isa Town campus serves as the College of Engineering for a diverse, international student body of around 4,200 undergraduates. Thecollege of five departments, namely Architecture & Interior Design, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Mechanical Engineering.

UoB President Prof Riyad Hamzah said, “As part of the transformation of the university it is our ambition for all students to have the best possible learning experience.”
