Golf Tip - Distance control

Controlling the pace of the golf ball on the green when putting is a key element if you want to become a successful putter.

If you can reduce the amount of three putts per round, not only will this improve your score but it will also keep you in a better frame of mind during your game.

There are two important factors to remember for improved distance control putting - tempo and length of putting stroke.

The tempo of the putting stroke should remain smooth throughout by maintaining an even back and forth rhythmic action. The length of putting stroke will determine the overall distance of the putt; the longer the putt, the longer the putting stroke.

The successful execution of these two factors will see massive performance gains in your putting results and hopefully you’ll start to see those longer putts drop.
