I decided to tame a neighbourhood kitty. After a little research I found out that there were four ‘kitty groups’ (for ladies about town) and I thought I ought to join one.

But how do I join? Do I simply crash a party, act super cool and say: ‘Hey, ladies! I want to honour you with my presence’.

I called a friend who was more experienced in such matters for advice. She suggested that I should wear my best clothes, prepare a hearty feast and invite a known ‘active member’ over to my home.

I did exactly as suggested. It was purr-fect and, sure enough, I got invited to the next kitty party in the neighbourhood.

On the big day I made my way to the beauty parlour to ensure I was feline and looked the part. I was the first to arrive. I waited in a lavish drawing room and as time slowly ticked by the other guests arrived fashionably late.

The hostess eventually glided down the stairs in all her finery. Everyone in the room gasped and looked on in awe.

As if scripted, those gathered turned their attention to the stray in the room. Where do you live? Do you own your villa? What do you do?

There were calculated glares and a few stares, paws out … meow, meow. Now I know why it was labelled a ‘kitty party’.

The Dove

I, The Dove, can see two sides

Two parts of this wonderful world

Clearly aware of which part I’m far away form

The dark lane which I’m trying to brighten

War, hate, anxiety, darkness

This is the side people are willing to fight for

Up in the air, watching with guilt

Guilt, feeling like I can bring change

Peace, love, light, happiness

Understandable to drive on this road

In the blue, seeing rainbows underneath me

Not one person expecting my help.
