As we slowly made our way upstairs, Chef Jagbeer awaited us with a welcoming smile and a spread of enticing looking food. On a regular Thursday or Friday night, it’s quite intriguing how different the atmosphere upstairs and downstairs can be.
LNT can really be summarised as a hipster’s haven. There is a corner with every old cell phone imaginable and a collection of ‘edgy’ (but accessibly mainstream) signs and posters that make Portlandia look like a documentary.
As for the food, even though we were already bursting at the seams, we took bites out of the a la carte menu’s most popular and delicious offerings – the salmon teriyaki (BD6.5+++), wagyu burger (BD5.2+++), jalapeno cheese balls (BD3.8+++ for a single serving or BD6+++ for a shareable plate), Avocado Quinoa Salad (BD3.8+++), chicken flautas (BD2.8+++), seared tuna (BD4.2+++) and chicken and mushroom pie (BD5.2+++).
Almost everything is shareable or has a communal component to it. And paired with good company and fantastic live music by the residential band RA, it always makes for a chill but lively evening out.
For New Year’s Eve, there is a masquerade party planned, so make sure you bring your finest bauta, colombina or volto masks and dress up for the occasion, which means no shorts, sandals or singlets or you won’t be let in.
You can make an advanced reservation for BD20net per person, which will be credited against your bill for the night, or walk in on the night of New Year’s Eve (if you make it in) for BD10net, which includes two select beverages.
