It’s the most wonderful time of the year to reduce waste and carbon footprints and the eco-friendly warriors at The Green Planet are leading the way with the installation of a sustainable and fully recyclable Christmas tree!
The team at the tropical indoor eco-system has been busy collecting more than 700 plastic water bottles from Meraas Leisure & Entertainment assets to construct the festive tree, which is making a ‘green’ statement out the front of the bio-dome located in City Walk.
The bottle collection took more than three months and the tree was then beautifully decorated by the talented team as they painted flowers on the water bottles and plastic caps to be used as decorations. It’s not your traditional Christmas tree but if you look a little closer, you’ll see it really is ‘green’ after all.
The Green Planet is extremely passionate about protecting and conserving the earth, educating the public and maintaining an eco-friendly venue for their furry and scaly friends. The team recently launched the region’s first eco-friendly birthday party, and this initiative aims to encourage visitors to make the most of the festive season without costing the earth.
