Gulf Weekly Reward for Rampersad

Serwin Rampersad, who only achieved his club handicap this year, put in a net score of 58 (gross 83) in the Batelco Medal tournament at the Awali Golf Club.

This is the first time such a low score has been returned since the 2006/2007 season … and Rampersad was rewarded with a trophy and a six stroke cut to his handicap.

Salem Khalifa led the field of 86 golfers with his best gross score of 68 (net 62) and took first place in Flight 1.

Prior to the prize presentations club president Steve Brown awarded five exceptional handicap cut certificates from the previous week’s competition and noted that Nathan Sundaresan was also being cut again this week.

Madeleine Deporto from Batelco, who had just played in her first competition since achieving her own handicap, presented the prizes to overall winners Rampersad and Khalifa as well as to the flight winners and the ‘nearest the pin’ performers. The tournament director was Kerry Diaper.

Results: Best gross score: Salem Khalifa (68); Best net score: Serwin Rampersad (58); Flight 1 – 1st Salem Khalifa (net 62/gross 68); Flight 2 – 1st Ali Danesh (65/81); Flight 3 – 1st Floris Brand (66/87).
