More than BD4,000 was raised for needy Bahraini families at a charity golf tournament held at the Riffa Golf Club.

The Sixth Palm Association Golf Day is an Individual Stableford tournament held annually to raise money for various charitable expenses, such as food parcels and appliances to the needy. Overall competition winner Chris Cowley was presented with two return Cathay Pacific tickets to Hong Kong. The Leading Ladies score of the day was won by Debbie Lane. Dan Cappell, who had a hole in one on the sixth hole, donated BD250 to the charity instead of buying each player a drink, which is customary when you achieve a hole in one.
