RESIDENTS and visitors from Saudi Arabia flocked to check out what was in store at Bahrain's latest mall which opened for business last week.
The roads around Tubli were more packed than usual at the weekend as the 200,000 square feet Ansar Gallery, opposite the Adhari Park attraction, proved a magnet for the island's shopaholics.
Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro officially opened the BD10 million mall in front of business leaders and ministry officials.
Dr Fakhro commended the growing volume of investments in constructing and developing multi-purpose shopping malls in the kingdom saying it will contribute to reviving the national economy and will attract global businesses to ensure they and their brands are represented regionally in Bahrain.
The three-level Ansar Gallery boasts a hypermarket alongside electronic and household appliance stores on its first floor covering an area of 5,500sq ft. On the second floor clothing, shoes and bag stores prevail. European, Chinese and Arab furniture is on sale on the third floor. There is also a special playing area for children.
Ansar Gallery has more than 300 parking spaces and its parent group hopes to expand the number of bases it currently has in the Gulf region to five in the next three years.
