ASHRAF BGDC - in collaboration with Swiss cosmetics brand La Prairie - has launched a new edition of its Life Threads perfume range and an all-new White Caviar Illuminating Systme skin-care collection.
The new fragrances in La Prairie's Life Threads collections include Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald which were unveiled at the Elite Grande Hotel in Seef.
Alexandra Doleac, international trainer of the brand, said: "Just as each precious gem comes with its own legends and emotional associations so do these fragrances.
"The sapphire, in early times believed to be the firmament in which the earth was embedded, recalls a beautiful spa experience on an idyllic island, where the soothing ocean, adrift with petals of exotic orchids and sea jasmine, induces peace and quiet meditation.
"The ruby, the colour of love, is spontaneously associated with passion and power. It inspires extravagant emotions, deeply felt and freely expressed.
"The emerald, regarded by the Incas and Aztecs as a 'holy' gemstone, was also treasured by Egyptian pharaohs. The purity of its green tone can be seen as a symbol of renewal, the rebirth of nature, the splendour of spring."

La Prairie's new skin-care collection -White Caviar Illuminating Systme is defined as a blend of artistry and advanced biotechnology.
This complementary three-part system is comprised of a silken cream and two highly- concentrated serums.
Each is scientifically-formulated to treat the skin's age-related problems such as uneven pigmentation and age spots, loss of firmness, accompanied by fine lines and wrinkles, general dryness and reduced clarity.
The brand describes the 'regal signature' as the essence of the collection, as it contains golden imperial caviar extracts. Alexandra claimed: "Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and an important source of marine DNA, these rare caviar extracts firm and nourish the skin with vitamins, nucleic acids, phospholipids and proteins, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and promoting a more youthful appearance.
"It also consists of a series of exotic ingredients to help boost the skin's antioxidant level of defence, improve its moisture barrier and play a key role in the firming process."
The serum and white cream of the White Caviar collection costs BD206 and the eye serum BD114.
The new collection will be available at Jashanmal in A'ali Shopping Complex, Faces in Seef Mall, Saks Fifth Avenue, Debenhams and Paris Gallery.
